Janice Seagraves Family Foundation Establishes Fire Science Scholarship

The CSI Foundation received a $25,000 donation from the Janice Seagraves Family Foundation in support of scholarships benefiting students enrolled in the fire science program.

The Fire Science program meets the educational needs of both those who desire to become firefighters and those currently employed in the field who are looking to advance their knowledge base. The program provides opportunities for students to earn multiple fire service credentials. CSI offers an associate of applied science and an intermediate technical certificate in fire science.

“We are so excited to receive this generous donation from the Janice Seagraves Family Foundation,” said Brad Buehler, CSI Fire Science Lead Instructor. “Our program plays a critical role in training the next generation of first responders for our region. The scholarship support will help us recruit and retain the best and brightest for the program.”

Students who are interested in applying for the scholarship are encouraged to submit a CSI general scholarship application located in their myCSI portal. Individuals who are interested in learning more about the CSI Fire Science program are encouraged to contact Lead Instructor, Brad Buehler at 208-732-6735, or bbuehler@csi.edu.
