My name is Jesus Garcia Jr. I’m first generation college student, my parents didn’t go to college. They came from Mexico when I first came to CSI and having that difference between living with your parents and not living with your parents. It was really weird, I was scared at first and also like a little bit relieved just because I was like oh I’m away from home but at the same time I was like well now what it definitely encouraged me to kind of start being social. I guess when it comes to just being an adult I want students to know that it’s okay to be scared when it first comes to coming to college.
