CSI FOUNDATION AWARDS $17,400 IN MINI-GRANTS TO CAMPUS PROJECTS

TWIN FALLS, ID-The CSI Foundation Scholarship & Grants Committee is pleased to announce the awarding of the 2023-2024 mini-grant projects. The CSI Foundation mini-grants are awarded to faculty, staff, and administration for new, innovative projects that are not able to be financially supported by the College. Projects should demonstrate support of the student learning process, alignment with the CSI strategic plan, and enrollment management plan. Projects that directly impact a high number of students or illustrate support of Hispanic Serving institution efforts receive priority.

CSI Foundation Executive Director, Erika Allen, shares, “We are delighted to offer the mini-grant program after its hiatus during the pandemic. The CSI Foundation Scholarship & Grants Committee was pleased with the quality of projects submitted for consideration.”

The 2023-2024 CSI Foundation mini-grant recipients are:

Jennifer Hall-College and Career Readiness

  • Lunch with leaders networking events for College and Career Readiness

Adam Valentiner-Digital Media

  • Audio equipment for Digital Media production and audio recording

Jessica Williams-Fine Arts

  • Volunteer meet and greet for Fine Arts, to build volunteer pool for events

Shelby Hamblen-Herrett Center

  • Funds to support Herrett Center Science Camp-in for 3rd-5th grade students

Shannon Van Horn-Learning and Tutoring

  • eTutoring Services for off campus centers

Tonja Bowcut and Rene Rambur-HOSA Advisors

  • Funds to support HOSA Future Health Professionals Chapter regional/district leadership and competitive events conference at CSI

Reed Hepler and David Horalek-Library

  • Digitization materials for archival items in the CSI Library

Denna Methmann-CSI Mental Health Committee

  • T-shirts to promote mental health awareness on campus

Perri Gardner-Social Science and Humanities Symposium

  • Speaker honorarium for Social Science and Humanities Symposium

Jan Simpkin-Sustainability Council

  • Power inverter and battery for solar charging station on campus

Shane Brown-Arts and Humanities

  • Funds for theater majors and honor students to attend Idaho Humanities Council’s Distinguished Humanities Lecture Series.
